We seek to help our customers:
- work with the 'upstream' supply chain to focus on store-friendly deliveries
- improve back-room and shelf/rail replenishment processes
- raise productivity by applying warehouse management disciplines to the store environment
- focus on the core issues at the store that contribute to stock-outs
- maximise the use of high-cost store space for selling - by using remote backrooms/offsite consolidation centres where appropriate.
Offsite Consolidation Centres
At DHL we also design, manage and operate remote backrooms/offsite consolidation centres for shopping malls (including airport malls) and city centres, plus the retailers operating within these environments. For such customers we seek to:
- reduce the number of vehicles accessing the delivery point, and cut traffic congestion/environmental impact in the surrounding area
- increase sales through improving the range and availability of merchandise - by providing fast replenishment from (cheaper) offsite storage
- provide
pre-retailing services offsite so merchandise is delivered to store in a shelf/rail-ready format - enable store staff to focus on their core competencies - i.e. serving customers and selling - rather than back-room activities.
